Normie friends are perturbed.  They donated their hard-earned money to politicians, elected them, and became worse off. They elected an outsider president and his party into leadership of all three branches of the federal government: the Presidency, the House of Representatives, and the Senate.  That trifecta amounted to minimal progress compared to expectations. Bureaucrats and government organizations hindered a president with a mandate, and most in Congress from his party did nothing to help him.  The Democrat demolition team was installed and faced no meaningful impediment despite lots of bluster. What gives? You wonder.

Baby you’ll come knocking on my front door
Same old line you used to use before
I said yeah, well, what am I supposed to do?
I didn’t know what I was getting into

The estimable Dan Bongino tells you that while Republicans aren’t perfect, Democrats are your problem. He tells us that every month at least.  Probably, almost every Con Inc. pundit has made that claim. Indeed, it is the Democrat policies, along with selective enforcement of law and flouting the Constitution, that are killing the nation and its citizens’ way of life. Still, it is time to stop “owning the libs” and take ownership of Republicans’ failure and betrayal in preventing—or even significantly trying to stop the disaster. Our leaders assure us that we are doing everything to fight the Dems.  They investigate crimes but never get to the bottom of them and cannot prosecute anyone. They make demands but don’t follow up because they cannot get their ducks in a row on key votes. They moralize and virtue-signal, but when it comes down to it, they join with the Democrats almost every time.

I’ll offer a sordid list of your “representatives,” taking your values to the seat of government. I am sure you could add many to it.

  • Republicans approved ginormous spending bills with liberal Democrat wish items and no significant conservative objectives on multiple occasions. Instead of huge, all-encompassing spending plans that congress members don’t have time to analyze, they could have individual spending legislation, but Speakers of the House caved every single time over many years.
  • The Wall that was never built. (Don’t even start that nonsensical denial of a proven fact.  It’s already been dealt with here years ago.)
  • The Trump Administration had a Republican President, the House of Representatives, and the Senate but failed to pass much legislation. Speculation included dysfunction in Congress, a disorganized White House, and sabotage, but the results were hardly what was expected.

Ronna Romney McDaniel has failed several consecutive elections in which Republicans were expected to win easily.  The Republican National Committee didn’t sponsor the 2020 election challenges but raised funds from them.  She was accused of mismanaging funds. So the bell finally tolled for Mitt’s niece,  and Harmeet Dhillon, one of the most esteemed members of the party and a loyal Trump supporter, volunteered to right the ship.  Former president Trump, who had initially placed her in office upon his 2016 election, had to respond to the reckoning from his party’s voters. Here, he shows how much that mattered to him.

Meanwhile, Trump had quietly supported McDaniel, a niece of Republican Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, and dispatched a handful of his lieutenants to Southern California to advocate on her behalf.

The former president avoided making a public endorsement at McDaniel’s request, according to those with direct knowledge of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe private conversations. McDaniel’s team was confident she would win without his public backing, allowing her to maintain a sense of neutrality heading into the 2024 presidential primary season.

With his nomination a formality, Trump has decided mismanagement is suddenly unacceptable and pushed her out. He is going with nepotism, but no Jared Kushner or even daughter Ivanka this time; instead, it’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump. Is this to prevent sabotage, or is it something else? I suspect it is that something else. When he says, ” I guess I’m a politician now,” he isn’t so incredulous. He has been through the swamp enough and has taken to swamp rules. His voters will pay the price.

Valiant Efforts

Congresspersons Matt Gaetz (R, FL) and Kevin McCarthy (R, CA), October 3, 2023/NY Post

Someone finally had enough. Matt Gaetz proffered a “Motion to Vacate” after Kevin McCarthy negotiated an abysmal deal with Joe Biden.  This vote was easier than the twelve-rounder that placed McCarthy in that position.  There was much dysfunction there.  There was personal animosity between Gaetz and McCarthy over the Speaker’s inaction during what was later revealed as a false accusation extortion against Gaetz.  McCarthy supporters trivialized the vote showdown as petty revenge, but cannot explain the other members’ adamant rejection of Mccarthy.  Thus a new speaker of the House. The new Speker’s qualifications: Less people hate him than the other politicians.  How did he repay the Republican coalition? He caved on the most enormous government spending bills ever, with no border security items included.  Some things never change. Establishment Republicans vilified Matt Gaetz for getting in the Uniparty’s way.  His political career will be fraught with RINO’s trying to take him out of public life., because he dared to put the voters first.

Representative Thomas Massie (R, KY) has fought bravely against fiscal excesses and misguided policies in Congress for over a decade. Many of his colleagues do not appreciate his impeding their “champagne wishes and caviar dreams,” as Robin Leach called The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. The difference is that wealthy celebrities usually have the money to pay the bills, but the USA does not have the cash. The second difference is that celebrities spend their own money, whereas the government spends the citizens’ money. Representative Massey famously demanded an identifying vote on a large pandemic relief bill and infuriated both fellow congresspersons and the president, but he was right. He was the ONLY one to consider whatr was best for you instead of what was expedient.

“These people need to do their jobs. If they are telling people to drive a truck, if they are telling people to bag groceries, and grow their food, then, by golly, they can be in a room and vote,” he said. “They don’t want to be on record of making the biggest mistake in history.”

For this, he had Trump try to have him primaried but won easily because his constituents knew he was on their side. Today, he continues the fight against government spending and overreach. Unfortunately, the majority in Congress has too many votes to overcome, but Representative Massey refuses to quit.

There are a few other responsible leaders, many of them members of the House (of Representatives) “Freedom Caucus,” and the Senate has a few worthy fighters as well.

Imprudent Jurisprudence

We could carry this caslling out to the judges President Trump nominated and Senator McConnell successfully landed on the Supreme Court.  Justice Gorsuch was praised when he enumerated abuses of constitutional law during the coronavirus lockdown nightmare.  Con Inc. was oh so thrilled.  Lawyer and talk host Clay Travis was over the moon with vindication.  Did he and the others ever mention that the one part of government that could have ruled the unconstitutional excesses be prevented or later ended because they were, well, unconstitutional, is the Supreme Court, of which Gorsuch was and is a member?  Suffice it to say I was NOT impressed with the Justice, and his court’s inaction that was all too reminiscent of when the plot to stop Trump’s reelection—that we were told didn’t happen—did happen, and they were proud of it.

My fellow frustrated friends, we are in a difficult situation.  There are Liberal and Progressivist Democrats hating us and destroying the country. They tell us, and they never relent.  Our hopes rest on the Republicans, a group of Democrats pretending to be Conservatives that always go along with their opponents, thus forming the Uniparty.

The conquest of the American empire has too few opponents in the government.  Voters have insufficient representation to call this nation a Democratic Republic.
