That there weren’t thousands of professional recordings and live broadcasts around the world? You find this behavior everywhere nowadays. People with their kids. Once-in-a-lifetime events. Squandered to feed the phone. STOP! Live life in the real world where you live.

Insanity might explain crimes. It should never excuse them. A criminal justice system allowing an “Insanity Defense” is insane.

The common claim when people’s misdeeds are revealed is that it didn’t happen, that they can prove otherwise, and — how dare anyone impugn their integrity — but not right now. Eventually, when they can’t refute it because they did the deed, people can’t remember what it was they did. That is the cynical, shameless world of public relations today.

When people feel their elected representatives sell them out and go against what they were sent to do, those voters won’t care in the next election. They might even be receptive to a new form of government, hoping for responsive leadership. Citizens get what they vote for. Politicians should try to earn constituent loyalty. Unfortunately, money is allowed to control elections and eventually government itself. Perhaps campaign speeches should speak directly and occur in a back vault full of stacks of bills. Or in Crypto server rooms.

Everyone is selling you something. Especially in the public square. Don’t believe any news organization, social media star, or politician has your concerns at heart. You only represent a means to their ends: money, policy, or prestige.
